A warm welcome to the Moar Gut

Four generations of hosts have poured their passion, values and heart into this house.

Here you can feel how love, mindfulness and genuine hospitality shape every moment – for parents, children and all those who long for a home away from home. The Moar Gut is more than just a holiday destination: It is a sheltered retreat in the Alps, where tranquillity, connection and mindful family life take centre stage. In the heart of nature, there is space to breathe, to let go and to truly arrive. Here, children can simply be children – free to explore and play – while parents rediscover lightness and take time for what really matters. From many small moments grows a feeling of security, togetherness and genuine relaxation – shared, in your own rhythm.

Elisabeth and Josef Kendlbacher

Elisabeth and Josef Kendlbacher, parents of four and grandparents of three, have been running the Moar Gut with great passion and foresight since the 1990s. Together, they have transformed the former farmhouse guesthouse into an elegant 5-star Familien Natur Resort, now ranked among Europe’s leading family hotels.

Amely and Thomas represent the new generation of hosts. As Managing Director, Thomas bears the entrepreneurial responsibility, and together they guide the fortunes of Moar Gut with deep dedication, continuing its long-standing tradition while enriching it with fresh, inspiring accents.

Nora Lipp with her husband Anton and their children Ferdinand and Mathilda

Nora, the eldest daughter, is the creative visionary. With a degree in tourism management, she shapes the evolution of our hotel and our offers with tireless inspiration, foresight and determination – always with a keen sense of what families truly wish for.

Viktoria and Paul Kendlbacher

Their daughter Viktoria works in the restaurant during holidays and at weekends – a warm-hearted counterbalance to her medical studies. Paul, the youngest of Elisabeth and Josef’s children, brings his international experience to reception and the restaurant – with great passion and a genuine feeling for people.

Ferdinand Prommegger

Our senior host is still often on hand with good advice for our farm operations and loves spending time on the hunt. At the hotel he is regularly seen with his great-grandchildren Ferdinand, Mathilda and baby Lorenz.

Timeline

The Moar Gut looks back on a long history and was once listed in the land register as “Mayr zu Bach”. The name “Moar” comes from the local dialect and is the colloquial form of “Mayr”. In this way, the original Mayr farm gradually became today’s Moar Gut. A place that preserves its roots and unites tradition with the present.
