As the Großarl Valley slowly transforms into a snow-covered winter landscape and a sense of calm settles over Moar Gut, a very special time of year begins. The scent of fir branches and freshly baked Christmas cookies fills the air, candlelight creates a warm glow, and outside, snow blankets the surrounding landscape. Advent at Moar Gut is about consciously making time for one another and returning Christmas to what truly matters: precious time together as a family.

The weeks leading up to Christmas are an invitation to leave everyday life behind and experience the Advent season at a slower pace. From traditional Advent wreath making with Elisabeth Kendlbacher and baking Christmas cookies at our Natur Kinderhof to a horse-drawn carriage ride through the wintry Großarl Valley, these are moments made for creating lasting family memories.

During this time, our cosy rooms are decorated in a subtle and natural way. Fir branches, candlelight and the scent of incense create a peaceful festive atmosphere – understated, authentic and deeply rooted in tradition.

Festive Culinary Moments

Advent also brings plenty of seasonal delights to the table. Our kitchen team, led by head chef Martin Börst, combines regional ingredients with traditional flavours and festive dishes. And, of course, there are our homemade Christmas cookies from the patisserie – each one handcrafted and lovingly decorated.

While the children play, create and enjoy the magic of Advent together at the Natur Kinderhof, parents can take some time for themselves in the Natur Spa. Soothing sauna infusions with seasonal aromas such as cinnamon and incense add a subtle touch of Christmas to moments of relaxation.
